Philip Clark Honnold, Jr.
August 22, 1941 - August 27, 2012
Philip Clark Honnold, Jr. died Monday afternoon August 27th, 2012 at home. He died peacefully surrounded by his family and under the care of Island Hospice.
Clark was born in Oklahoma City on August 22, 1941 to Philip Clark Honnold, Sr. and Elaine Buck Honnold.
He graduated from the Casady School in 1959 and from the University of Oklahoma in 1964. He was a member of SAE and kept in touch with many of his brothers during his life. After attending Southern Methodist University in Dallas he embarked on a sales career for almost fifty years. His first job after college was with the Dr. Pepper Parent Co., Dallas. He was a zone manager in Dallas was transferred to Greenville, S.C. and on to Atlanta where he met and married his wife Kay.
In 1972 he joined the Branigar Organization and he and Kay moved to Savannah in 1974 where he was a member of the original sales staff developing The Landings on Skidaway Island. Those were happy years as he and Kay were pioneers on the island. The most rewarding years were spent starting in the early eighties as an Associate Broker with his dear friends Bob and Reba Laramy with Prudential Southeast Coastal Properties. His relationships with customers and co-workers was most important to him.
Clark was an avid reader. He enjoyed newspapers, politics and sports; especially college football.
Clark was predeceased by his father and by grandparents Mr. and Mrs. C. Edgar Honnold, Oklahoma City and Mr. & Mrs. J Frank Buck of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Survivors who will cherish his memories include his wife Kay, daughter Laine Kelley Eubank and husband Norvin, his beloved mother Elaine Buck Honnold, Oklahoma City, brother Frank Buck Honnold, Denver, sister Carol Elaine Morrison, Colorado Springs, nephews Tres, Buck & Clark and Sara Melton. Colorado Springs and Clark & Sara's children Alexander, Victoria, Imogen, and Deaglan. Clark's adored grandchildren Court, Isabella Caroline and Jack Clark Kelley. Also surviving are his many friends and co-workers.
There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 1, 2012 at the Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church, 450 N. Cromwell Road.
Interment will be in Shawnee, Oklahoma in the Buck family plot with his beloved maternal grandparents who were such a tremendous influence on his life. They taught the skills to be the wonderful grandfather he was.

Less than three years ago, I enjoyed my 50th Casady reunion dinner at a table that I shared with Clark and Kay. It is difficult to realize that we have lost Clark. I pray that the Lord will ease your grief in time.
